First of all, this list will be in no particular order, we have separated the places to visit in terms of type of vacation. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Country Breaks

Here, we will discuss the top places to visit the Country at it’s purest.

Not always top of people’s lists, but Devon has some of the most magnificent views the UK has to offer. Perfect for just a nice and simple getaway! Somewhere to talk nice walks, see the country and relax. Not only is Devon beautiful, but it may surprise you too. Visit the South West Coast Path and see seals swimming the day by without a care in the world and snap some pictures. To top it off, Devon has some top hotels in the area which are perfect to end the day in.

If it’s the Country you’re after, then look no further! Simply put, Norfolk is beautiful. From cycling the streets, to visiting the sites, to catching the crabs, Norfolk is the perfect country break for a couple or a family. It is also very rich in history and hosts the famous Norman Castle from William the Conqueror’s reign.

Romantic Breaks

Here, we will discuss the perfect getaway for you and your loved one.

Lake District:

First and foremost, the obvious choice! The Lake District always has been and always will be, in our opinion, the top couples retreat. Spoiled for choice, from the breathtaking views, the peaceful walks and for the relaxing boat riding. The Lake District has it all and then some.

The Lake District is the top choice and rightly so. However, one of the most over looked getaways is Wales. For all age groups but particularly slightly older, Wales is one of the most relaxing places on Earth. You can also visit the Brecon Beacons Waterfall and even slip behind it.

Family Breaks

Last but certainly not least, Family Breaks!

Isle of Wight:

Far enough to call abroad but close enough to call home, the Isle of Wight is one of the most breathtaking places in the UK and for good reason. Catch the right weather and you will feel like you’re in sunny Spain with the sand between your toes. Just visit the beautiful beaches for the perfect day out. Like any good getaway destination, the Isle of Wight is a great location for walking and cycling to explore the wonderful destination.

You may need more than a day or two as the Aviemors is pack filled with surprises. To name a few, the Aviemors based in the Scottish Highlands hosts: wildlife parks, a mountain railway, outdoor adventure parks including zip wires, quad biking, climbing wall, archery, clay pigeon shooting, gorge walking, fishing, kayaking and more. To say that Aviemore is perfect for an active family break is an understatement.

Special Mention

London Eye

The London Eye sits on the South Bank of the River Thames and is currently the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe, standing an impressive 135 metres tall. It was officially opened on New Year’s Eve 1999 to mark the dawning of the new millennium and at the time was the largest Ferris wheel in the world.

It has gone on to become one of the most popular visitor attractions in the UK and has been rode by tens of millions of people. The wheel is made up of 32 pods, and can hold up to 800 people at one time.

It takes about half an hour for the wheel to complete a full revolution and on a clear day you can see 25 miles from the peak.
